New Democracy "promised growth for all, but what we have seen institutional and financial interventions that are not for everyone," SYRIZA's responsible for finance Euclid Tsakalotos said on Monday in an interview with Alpha TV.
"I want to see tax exemptions in other groups as well," the former finance minister said.
"It is necessary to reduce some taxes but it is not enough for a comprehensive growth strategy," said Tsakalotos.
Tsakalotos stressed that SYRIZA has taken a number of measures to provide relief to taxpayers. In response to a statement that this does not seem to have passed to the citizens, he said: "People do not judge if it is better than last year, they judge the current situation according to their needs. And it's a lot of people that still have a lot of needs."
