The prime minister also spoke about the government’s efforts to intercept the hike in prices referring to the 'Permanent Reduction of Price' measure adding that a total of 644 products have been already included in the programme.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his standard post on facebook every Sunday with the weekly review of the government's work, referred to the opening of the Youth Pass platform, the increase of the guaranteed minimum income, the inauguration of a modern waste management unit, the new smart electricity meters, to Elefsina shipyards, to the progress of the battle against the hike of prices, the compensations to the flood-stricken and to the pubic infrastructures control programme.

On the Youth Pass, he said that he had announced it in May 2023 during the elections campaign. On the guaranteed minimum income he said that the joint ministerial decision for an 8 pct. increase was signed in the previous week.

Speaking of the protection of the environment, Mitsotakis referred to the opening of the most modern waste management unit in Greece at Paleohouni in Arcadia that will offer a solution to a huge problem in the region of the Peloponnese.

He referred to the new smart meters of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator, a project of total budget 1.2 billion euros. "Households will have much better control over their bills and will be able to save money, that's what the smart meter is all about. They will be able to control their consumption in a much more transparent way" the premier said.

The prime minister also spoke about the government’s efforts to intercept the hike in prices referring to the 'Permanent Reduction of Price' measure adding that a total of 644 products in 35 basic categories (fresh milk, detergents, jams, sugar, yoghurt, rice, cereals) have been already included in the programme while more and more are added in the list. "Our target is the products to reach 1,000 and I believe we will achieve it as over 50 companies have already responded showing sense of social responsibility".
