The further strengthening and upgrading of the strategic relations between Greece and Saudi Arabia - at a time of reshaping the geopolitical landscape in the Middle East and international turmoil - and the role of Greece as a bridge, commercial, investment, energy, Asia and the Middle East with Europe is marked by the official visit of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to AlUla in Saudi Arabia on Monday for the 1st Greece-Saudi Arabia High Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
It should be noted that this is the first High Level Cooperation Council of Greece with a Middle Eastern country, while it is a permanent structure of bilateral cooperation with Committees by sectors of cooperation, which will be chaired by the competent ministers.
Saudi Arabia is a stable and important partner with a significant role in the Gulf and the wider region. On its part, Riyadh sees Athens as a stable and reliable European democracy and as a gateway to the EU and European markets.
During the Council, Mitsotakis will have a meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
